Frequently Asked Questions

Shouldn’t it be Lake Effect?

No. Final Answer.

Just kidding, Lake Affect Media is named for the way the Huron County area influenced my decision to join the film industry, hence the use of the verb “Affect”.

Where are you from?

I’m based out of Walton, Ontario and mainly operate in Huron, Perth and Bruce Counties. That being said, the Sky’s the limit! I love to travel and am more than happy to commute longer distances for projects.

How long have you been in the business?

I began Lake Affect Media when I was in High School. As of 2022 Lake Affect Media has been operating for 8 years.

What experience do you have?

I attended Loyalist College’s Film and Television Production program, graduating in 2018. Since then Lake Affect Media has been my profession. I’ve worked on all sorts of projects, destined for the internet, Television and Streaming Platforms. Despite my work on TV and Film productions, doing work for local businesses and organizations has always been my true passion.

What can you do for me?

Lake Affect Media specializes in Video Production, but also has experience with photography, audio, design and marketing. If you don’t see something listed on my website, always feel free to reach out!

Have you done this sort of video before?

I’m sometimes asked about different video types or topics and whether I have done anything similar in the past. At the end of the day the camera is the same, and the editing computer is the same no matter the type of video you’re looking for. I’ve taken on numerous different types of projects and have yet to find something I couldn’t do.

How much does it cost?

This is a difficult question, as cost depends on how much time will go into a project. I have hourly rates that I use to provide you with a media quote for your project. Once that quote is given that is the price. Unless the scope of work changes drastically the quote will not change. Every project I work on always receives their money's worth and more.

How long will it take?

Again, a difficult to answer question as it is all based on the project. A typical turnaround time for an edit to be delivered is within two weeks.

Who owns the video at the end of production?

The client will have ownership of the final video when the project is done. This means Lake Affect will not display the video anywhere unless permission is granted from its owner. Lake Affect Media retains the ownership of all Raw Footage, unless otherwise specified.
